Not too long now. This is one of the rooms we are most excited about, our kitchen. It is on the first floor rather than the ground floor, so that we can make the most of the light. We initially thought the wall between the bay window and the window to the right was masonry but when the false ceilings were removed a huge gap appeared and it turned out to be a simply put up plaster wall and easy to remove. Now there is so much space and light. We hope to put our low-level kitchen units across the wall to the right with a simple shelf above.
The floor-boards are a bit worse for wear but, rather excitingly, a local department store has recently been partly demolished and they have been looking for a new home for their beech wood flooring. It is in lovely long planks and tongue and groove, so no little cracks in which to lose knitting needles. It'll be odd to have a floor in our home that I walked across fifteen years ago to buy an umbrella!
